A Remedy for Chills and Fevers.
Pitts bubo. Mat 10,1S6S.
ifenrt. IlotMtor Jb Smith :
Gentlemen;—During a Tuitto tho West, last fall, I
contracted chills and fever, which brought me to ray
bed, and finolly terminated in typhoid fever, and
confined me to my room for several months, during
which time I wa* physically so prostrated that I al
most despaired of ever recovering my health; hav
ing almost entirely lost my appetito for days, not be
ing ablo to cat a morsel, added to which I was dis
tressed wish a reeling sensation in my head, and
passed many sleoplT^snights—ali from debility caused
by my prostrato condition, brought about by fever.
At this stage of my condition a friend recommended
me to use your celebrated Stomach Bitters, but being
morally opposed to the use of stimulants in any form,
I at first declined, but afterward yielded my prejudi
ces, and, after taking the medicine furs veral weeks,
my appetite returned, and with it I am rapidly re
gaining my former strength and vigor. My sleep
(from the loss of which I have suffered much.) has
never been bettor than it is now, and the reeling sen
sation (before alluded to) has entirely left me. My
bowels, which were much constipated and irregular,
nreViow quite natural, and, in fact, I am glad to say
that I feel myself a new man. and tender you this
testimonial of my appreciation of your valuable pre
paration, in order that others, suffering as I have,
may avail themselves of it* virtues, which prcjudico
kept me from enjoying for so long a period. I may
also add that my physician, after seeing the benefi
cial effect of your Bitters on me, recommended that I
use them regularly.
Yours, very respectfully,
E. BOURNE.
