REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE.
W’e expected last night to have received the Re-

ytere disappointed. It is stated in the National

of the Executive, and is rumored to have been the

the two tart days We have no doubt of being a-

probability receive the report (o night and shall
lay it before our readers in our next It is believ
ed that the Committee did not consider Edward*
as on trial before them, and only regarded him as
a vilneet. It is likely enough, therefore, that
they have passed no sentence upon him, Ed
wards’* character, consequently, will be deter
mined by the testimony accompanying the Report,
snd by the circumstances incident to the taking
of that testimony.
It is probable that Edwards’z friends will strive
tp make a diversion in his favor by raising a cla
mor that he has not been found guilty, It will,
however, be a novel spe tacle to see a false accu
