Noticing an advertise. ment of Swaim’s Panacea, to be a euro for the above disease, f-got some by paying the cash for it, and found ugreat benefit by it. But having no thing but my labor to depend on for a living, am! not being able to work for a long lime, got .sotliai I was not able to pay for it. Some months afllr this, 1 heard of a Mr. Shihn’s having made a Pa nacea, stated to be the siune as Air. Swaim’s, i’ap plied to him and stated my cafeand circumstances and found him disposed to benefit me. He gave me the medicine freely, and said 1 might pay tor it whenever 1 got able 4 and I found, by taking the. same quantity, os much benefit by it as by Mr. Swaim’s. 1 have given this certificate for tile benefit of others that should stand in need of Shinn’s Puna- cea, and consider it a very valuable medicine. In the month of December last,becoming seriously alar med, by the regular but constant increase of the disorder, he w as induced to commence the use of ' pills; Which were highly recom- “dy in bis complaint.—He began _ 'very little confidence as to their efficacy, and under the expectation that he should not be able to give them a lair trial, as hisstomach, heretofore, had-rejectcd every kind of medicine. Another circumstance which taught him to expect very little benefit, was that be had found it neces sary always to take more than an ordinary dose of any cathartic, before it would produce' the desir ed effect.
