Due on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, at 6 . m. The closing of this mail, to Augustu, takes place every Tuesday, Thursday,and Sunday, ut 8, p. m. except the intermediate offices 011 the route, the closing of which tukes place nt 7, v. m. on the same evenings. From Waynesboro’, a weekly mail departs every Monday, at 6, a. m. for Birds- villc, Louisville, Shouls ofOgecchee and Shevir’s Mill to Powelton. Returning due every Sunday evening, at Waynesboro’ and at Savannah every I Tuesday, at 6, p. m. Due on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, at 6, I r. m. By this route, a mail is made up each eve ning before its departure for Robertsville, Mat thews Bluff, Lower Three Runs and Four, Mile Branch. The mail between Charleston and Ham burgh, goes direct through Puryshurgh on those days, both up and down. Separate portmanteaus ore provided for this purpose, at the offices of Charleston and Augusta, which meet each other at Puryshurgh and arc there shifted, the down to Charleston, the up to Augusta; this supercedes the necessity of bringing that mail; to Savannah at ul), and thus expedites it twenty-four hours. Whereas il is desirable to ascertain the wishes of tile citizens of this state, ns to the mode of phasing Electors of President and Vice President ofthe United States: Be it therefore resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Georgia in Gen eral assembly met, That it shall be the duty of the Magistrates who shall preside ut the several Elec tions to be held in the different counties of this State for the choice of members of the Legislature, nt the next General Election therein, to propose to each and every voter at the time of receiving his vote, whether lie desires that the choice of said Electors shall be confined to the people or retained by the Legislature, and to request such voter to signify such desire by endorsiqg on his tickcnt, the word people or Legislature, according to the truth ofthe truth ofthe fact; and on count ing out the ballots, to annex to the return ofthe said election by them so transmitted to the Exe cutive Department, a true statement of the votes so given, to the end that the same may be laid be fore the next Legislature by his Excellency the Governor. And be it further resolved, That his Excellency the Governor be and he is hereby requested to cause this resolution to be published without de lay, in the several Gazettes of this State, and to continue the said publication once a month, until the next Genera!
