In the evening the General attended a Immlsoino entertainment, ordered by the Locietv of Cincinnati at the City Tavern t here lie spent the evening with his brotli- l...officers of the Revolutionary Army. rj*], e day was uncommonly fine. An | mm ei,se number of spectators thronged || 1() town from all parts of the adjacent A spacious Arclt was thrown across the Lpnd of Warren street, and one near the intersection of Second st reet, handsomely Llecorutcd with laurel, and evergreens and lowers appended in festoons. Over the jyont gate of the State House yard, where .the General entered, the old arch was pla- Iced, which in 1789 was erected in honor [of General Washington by the citizens of [Trenton, as ho passed on to ]V York to Itake upon himself the office of President loftlicU. States, Congress being then con vened in tlmt place.. . i In the cvemug the arches in W arren-st. I were handsomely illuminated. On Sunday morning, the Gen. attended worship at the Prfcsbyteriun Meeting House. In the afternoon he was to ride over to Bordentown, to visit Joseph B li.arte, and return to Trenton to sleep. On Bona- Monday morning he will cross the Delu Rvare to Morrisville, where he will be ro- Reived by the Pcnusylvunians—dine ut Bristol, and sleep at the arsenal nt Frank- 5brt, and enter Pliiladelpliia on Tuesday moriung. Such was the crowd nt Trenton, that [the mail carrier from Philadelphia lmd to |pass round the city, and enter the cast [street. The grebes were truly elegant il- [hmiinutccl with variegated lamps, and the [room in which the General dined, was su [perbly adorned. The, troops of cavalry from IPhiladelphia and Ilurrisbnrg, will escort tile General from the Trenton Bridge to I the Arsenal, near Prankfort. The Philadelphia papers state that up wards of one hundred scaffolds and stages have been erected on the route of the pro cession from Kensington to Fourth and Arch-street, about one half the distance which the procession moves in their city and liberties. Sonic of these scaffords tvilfaccommodate about 2000 persons— others not more than 20 or 30, A man who called himself Aaron Cum- tning, has been arrested at Portsmouth, on a charge of passing counterfeit money. Among a quantity ofeounterfeit bills found upon him, were 53 bills of $3, of the Com mercial Bank of New Jersey, 50 bills ol’ $5, of the Franklin Bank in New York, 3 bills of .*5, Eagle Bank, New Haven, and 14 cf §5, Phenix Bank, Hartford. ‘ • __ On Sunday Morning last, a large boat, (Containing two men, was upset in the I East River, opposite the Penitentiary. | They drifted up the river, clinging to the ' side of the boat, and crying for assistance, till they were taken up, nearly exhausted, at about half past three o’clock, at the mouth of Ilarlann. river, by Mr Samis, proprietor of the Hurl Gate ferry. Thus the cries, which raised in the mind of a , writer in the Gazette of Monday, an idea ; that murder had been committed at Ilurl i Gate, arc satisfactorily accounted for. N. Y. Ere.
