In addition to what we have already pub lished the mail of }ast night furnishes the following. The official returns from North Carolina give Jackson 15,820, Crawford 15,(377, leaving a majority in favor of .Tack- sun of 143. The Raleigh Register, a Craw ford paper from which we copvthe'above statement observes, “though it is impoSsi bleto say, with certainty, who will receive the vote of the state, from the returns re cei\cd, it is highly probable, that it will he given to Gen. In 17 counties the majorities only have been reported. It appears from these statements that the votes stand thus in the 3G counties. For Clay 14,125, Jackson 13,446, and Adams 7046. The Cincinata Spy says, “twenty counties remain to be heard from, which wdi add about 3,000 to Mr. Clay’s present majority;” ‘ New Hanipehirc.— 1 The most authentic intelligence which we have of the pro- . greets in this state, and the sentiments of the people there, is contained in the fol lowing paragraph from the New Hamp shire Patriot. “The election for electors is now closed, the ticket is unpledged; • and from thn Jngb character pf every in dividual on the list, We do not entertain a doubt that each will cast his free and un biassed vote as he shall deem most promo' tivc Of the good of the nation and of sound democratic principles,” From New-York all is yet in v doubt and darkness.” We,lmyo before tis* a let ter from Albany dated the 14di inst. which States that the Legislature would positive ly go into joint ballot on the next day and that they would elect an entire Crawford, or an entire Adams ticket. Our’CotTes- ppndcnt adds that he had no doubt the re sult would be in favor of Mr. Crawford. • ■ It is certain from tl'ic returns that have reached us that the election of the Presi dent will devolve upon the House of Re presentatives.
