Shocking attempt to KiO.—On Sunday
morning, about nine u'clock, tl|e neighbor-
lioud of Thirteenth and Broad streets was
thrown into the utmost consternation by the
rapnrl of a (woman, named Rebecca M'-
Kinley. having attempted lo kill lier bus
band with a knife Puc,|rhn constable of
the district, ivas immediately applied to by
the neighbors, and nn entering lire home o(
al'Kinley, found the latter lying on the
door, tho blood pouring in torrents from a
wound of the most desperate description in
his right side Just below tho arm. The

stantly confessed that she had done the.

begged that she might bo allowed to stay
