FRIDAY EVENING, Oct. 29. ■^U^anSTn^estm^^a^ from Europe ENTRY OP THE RUSSIANSlNTO ADRIANOPLE. Tho ship Tally-lla, Capt. R. To onr attentive cor respondents the editors ofihe Norfolk Ilea- Con and Herald, we are indebted for the following intelligence, extracted by them from tlie English papers, three days later from London end two froin Liverpool, than - ..previous aJvices. 1 It will'be seen hy the following extracts, that AdBUIVOPLE StinXENDEHIO TO TOE arsis or the Russians, and was occupied by the forces of Gen. " In Paris there continues lobe a vigorous opposition to the new French Ministry, Which is accused of being secretly in the interest nf England and Austria, and medi tating a coalition with these powers in rratsinenl from which they wt Ing to their great unpopularity, -lie able to extricate themselves. This, indeed,-is the only hope they now hav« nf getting rid of thom before tho masting of tho Pcpu ties; but they pretend that their fall is certain then, ns a lame majority will de clare against them. I very ’much doubt tits correctness of thts. statement. The number of poor Deputies who are to bo purchased by an allowance for their ex penses during their residence in Parit^nd- ded to those who are already secured, Will he quito sufficient for the purpose of Minis ters. Nothing but such an increased un popularity on their pnrt as would render the accepting office under them, or voting for them, infamous in the eyes of the peo- pl , would prevent Ministers front acqui ring a sufficient majority to enable them to hold their ground until the press shall have fetleied, end the return to an alisolulc system shall hate lost its horrors for the great bulk of tlm.population. ■As to the Rustian affair, there is no rea son to doubt its satisfactory termination.— The French Ministers dedan s positively that the Stritanwill yield (II the conditions required by Die Emperor, even though hope, however, was entertained in somo mve m of Asia Minor. In another declarat.on. ihe Porte' declares Itself reddv to send Plenipotentiaries to the head quarters of Count Diebiisch to treat flf peace with Russia. MUNICH, Sept. 5. On the 18th ofAugnn, Gen Diebiisch -Tiad declared Ills readiness to lisien to the .pVopusids of peace. Tlie result shows that lie did-not suffer his inarch to be suspended on tins account. It does not appear that General Diehitsch lias any instructions iiow Ip act in case the English should decjaio . against the further advance of the Russian unity. Such a case could not be (oieseen at St. Poteislmrgh, andtlraiefore Ihe Gen. •f the army marching to Constantinople Mill not he able to change hi. operation, trillion! order, from liis Sovereign, On a mere declaration of Mr. Itoberl Gordon,— But before an answer arrives trom St. Pe- tpishurgli the Russians may be before, or In Constantinople.. It i. hardly possible to be further deceived by vain iiopes res pecting the catastrophe in the East.—The question tin lunger is, to tre-t wi.h tlie vanquished Turks, but with ihe Victorinas Russians, on the lenn. of peace. The Ca tlinets must he agreed with each oilier res. peeling the future organization uf -he East. F.rom the Ccnstitulionml. The appointment ofiM. de Lavai to tile embassy to London is the subject of con ver.ailon in all ihe saloons. It is curious enough tlfat on the day on which tlie minis try received ihe confirmation of . tlie cap ture of Adriannplc by tlie Russian army, it should luve nude a choice which proves moie and inoru the alliance of ihe three Cabinets—Austria, England and France —against the Russian system. It was .aid that M. de la Fetinnays or M. de Morlcmnrt would have hud theEin bussy in London -, these nominations would have shown the concurrence of Russia in the alliance of France and England. Our Ambassador at Vienna was preferred. In fact, M. de Laval was no stranger to Ihe . late manoeuvres of Austria, England and France; and the Polignac Ministry, liy this new act, has already manifest, d Ihe spirit in which it was formed—to forward the inteiestsof Lord Wellington uud M. de ftietternich. The dismissal ofM. Bourjot, who was nt the head of political affairs during tha Alin Istrv of .Messrs, de Richelieu and Forronays, and tlie nomination of M. London as under Secretary of Foreign Af fairsi and who is only known from the pi ous acts nf his father, prove moreand more the English direction of tlie new Gnbinet. -PRIVATE CORRESPONDENCE. I know not with «lnt truth this is slated, hut I can see. clearly that the Mill- islets, instead of being thrown Into the state of alarm, imputed to them by tome of the liberaljottrnnls, rather appear ftill of confidence as to the favorable result of the nrgaclaliotls for peace which liavu been commenced, as well for the stability of their reign, as for the tranquility uf Eu rope. ‘Tlie visit ol tlie Rothschilds Is still the leading ,oiiio of discussion on our Ex change. Ii was generally understand that Russia per sisted in her pretensions of an indemnity in money lathe extent of 80,000,000 of rou bles; or in lieu thereof, cessions of territo ry on the Asiatic side alnne, including some f rlresses at the entrance nf the Bosphorus, as asecurits for the free nevigation between the Black Sea and the Mcditeirnnean. In regard to the pecuniary indemnity, com pliance onr thtt part of the Turkish Govern ment was thought impracticable, the coun try being unablo to furnish so groat a sum specie. In regard to territorial cession Asia, and tlie occupation of fortresses on the Bosphorus, these seemed to- be dif ficulties as liitialikely to be overcome.— Reflecting men at Constantinople, there fore, eufertained no expectation ol peace. ' Letters front Paris, of Tuesday eve ning, state that there is nothing true in all this news except the bare fagt,of the occu pation of Adrianople, . quarters, that the meditation of England and other powers friendly to Turkey might obtain foe her terms of a less humiliating kind than those which have hern demand ed by the Russian ompoinr; still it was evi dent that Turkey could not come out of the contest without suffering severely. The Sultan was still iiiplie cnjiitnl.and a general call to arms had been made. Com mercial business was at a complete stand,, both there and at Smyrna.
