An oil of black pepper may he found in the mar ket, obtained by distillatinn—this is Itv no means ihe same as the article above descri bed, and is very'feohle, if not entirely des titute of the particular propeity for which the above has been introduced. One drop of nil til black pepper, added to six grains of quinine, will greatly Increase Ihe powers of this remedy. Rxlrnrt df Quinine. This is the resid uum of the preparation of-Quinine. T-vo grains are fully equal to one oflhe former; and, as it is less than one third the price, it is of course much cheaper to the practition er than the snlphato.
