T HERE i* perhaps scarcely ail indi vidual in tin* Uitiied Stale*, who »•> nut n<'t|uu:ufcd, either by experience or report, with tho sa ntriry ofifeets of the Congress Spm»G Waters at S.iratos.i From thirty to filly thousand persons an nually visit these rtpriiim, many from the remoiesi soil ions of the United States, rtnr! some ftoiii the West Indies, and oilier for cun place*. Tlmcreit expense in visiting the Springs exclude* ih»* «renter portion of tlio community, (more Mitlh- nine out of ten.) and the bottled water, from 'its high price, prevents its use to tho extent of be ing surviee.ible, and confines it to a small number; it appears to ho a serious evil thnt /so valuable nn article should be so res tricted, that comparatively few should be (ildMo qpjuy what is so eonductvo to gen eral health in the hot weather of our'sum mer mouths. From those circumstances, Geo. \V. Carpenter is pleased to announce tho preparation of the above powders, con taining nil the essential substance* with which tho«e celebrated tiptings are impreg nated, and fiom which ilie waters of the Congress Springs ut Saratoga me precise ly at\jl efTectuaII) imitated. With a view to accommodate li e public, nnd to brine intogcncr.il »i*« so convenient nnd .valnn life a substitute for ilieso Waters, be' has been induced to po very extensively into the iiirtiiiifiicture of them, to put them at a price to ho within flic reach of most per sons. For tho nccomnmdniion of the pub. lie, agents will be appointed in nil the ci- tiev and principal inland owns to give a gener.il circulation to so useful nn article throughout the country. The public are recommended to make trial of these pow ders, as lie finds hy experience, and from the opinion of tho 'most eminent of the fa culty, that tho water made from them pos sesses the sumo medicinal qualities, is as effectual in its operations, and precise in t.isle, .is that taken immediately from the Springs. These powders are therefore re commended ns a vuluabl • remedy in all cases where the Saratoga Waters are pre scribed. Persons on sea voyages, or residing at a distance from the springs and in warm climates, will at dice perceive the great advantage of making use of these powders, which besides being more pbrt<4>lr and less expensive than the' botfied water, will keep w ithout injury for any length of time, as they aro equal in medical effect to that taken frosh from tho springs, they are cer tainly much preferable from the many ad vantages tbeyposscss. (£7** These powders nro superior to the Scidfitz, inasmuch as they are equally a- perient and agreeable, at the snine time possessing tonic and chalybeate qualities in a superior degree, and are consequently better adapted to ~ weak and debditatod constitutions than any, other cutharlid An use.
