O V TITUS 0 V Y. th) /m of July, will be pub-
usaed. the first So. of the fhird Volume
ofTuw I'ei.eoiuph.
This Paper, bavin? pass'd the ordeal which is
conerally considered necassary toinsurii ill ■ Ion?
fife of a literary hautlin.?, e ones before th ; sain ■
public which, two years u?o, called it into ;xis
cnee, and has since ?ivon it “a local habitation-
an I a name,” in such a shape as will convince its
patrons that itJiis thriv mon their boon v. Its
present appearance, we hope, will bo a i li i.snt
guarantee, that iis npar tr approach to nannood,
under tueir fosterin? pro. mion, will be distin
guished by a corresponding display ofits desire to
bo grateful lor past favors, as well us a strong
attachment to the principles by which it has been
guided front its birth. In a word, those principles
will he found to “strengthen with its strength;"
and, if it grows gray in lie pit die service, it will
not be found departing from them in the “sear
and yellow leaf” of an old age.
The Tei.boraph will given clear and impar
tial view of the existing stab! of public ad'airs—
taking care always to furnish its re i,lars vitli both
eidesofthe question, and very freq i only leaving
them to draw their own conclus.o is ofits merit.
The general politics of our boove 1 ■ in i ry will
occasionally demand our attention. W ; will be
influenced in our course of observation on this
important topic, solely by au irdeut w n io give
stability totbe Institutions of our glorious lepub-
lic, and trasmit unimpaired to posterity, the bless
ings which the Conscript 'a hers oftile Revolu
tion secured for our enjoyment.
\Vitti Party politics w; will have no connex
ion. Instead of fanning the flame of discord,
or tormenting prejudice, we suall feel it our duty
to use our inluvors to allay to; troubled ele
ments, and call into requisition the kin liier feel
ings of out common nature, thereby leading to
lament more liriniy the bonds which unite soci
ety.
The Telegraph will be open to Communi
cations from every quarter, l'lie only qualities
that will recommend them to our notice, being
ability,good-temper, and tho absence of scurril
ity.
Although the editorial management of the Pa
per lias fallen into other hands, the change will
not, in any shape, he peiceptible from its politi
cal course.
So much for Politics.
Now, the leading feuturesof oar Paper will be.
'to encourage and protect the rising Comm ■
of our Port -mark the increasing importance a
our State, and lend our aid to every measi,
which will facilitate Internal Improvement by
the local Government, aud spread relocation far
and wide. By a comfmed exertion oil the part
of the real friends of ieorgia, tiiese objects c m
be accomplished: then, we feel justified in call
ing on all who wool I scree their native State, to
assist us in oar enterprise.
With the hope of enlarging the mind, and cul
tivating the intellect, we will introduce, inrough
the columns of our Jo irual.au ibsiract ofall tea
passes throughout our extended coun.ry —som •
times glancing at the ad'airs of Europe, aud the
other sections of the Globe.
A large portion of our space will be devoted a>
Literature aud the Fine Arts—comprising Jng,
Mil reviews of tue wora.s of the Essayist.tbe Poet,
the Primer, and tbe Sculp,or; and every No. wil
contain a .Miscellany, which will be calculated to
instruct as well as am iss.
Our aim will b; achieved, if wo an make a
good Family Newspaper. One, that will be grave
with the .Moralist, light and playful with the mer
ry and contented, illustrative for toe semantic
aud the studious, and useful to the Merchant, tim
Mechanic, and the Farmer.
We have trespassed Deyon I ouriutemion: au I

Mr. Potter, Philadelphia.
Sir,—The benefit which I received from the
use of your invaluable medicine, impels me, as a
mutter of duty, to make my case public, for the
heuefitof those who may be laboring mu -m c U ui-
piaiuts similar to my own.
For four years 1 was adiictad witii anexcriUitl
ring complaint, whico siiov/ed itself first by avio
lent erruptioa in iny back, from wneuce it spread
to bo'.ii my shoulders, and from thence down
wards, until my wnole body , became almost an
entire scab ; it then commenced on the left side
01 my lace, extending upon my head tuencea-
ro <s to tlie otlior side, forming tlie lettei a in its
ourse; my wnole frame became excessively
i tiiiful uid sore, and when my clothing came in
,-onuict with tlie ulceration on my buck, the
lightest touch would place me in the greatest
a .011/, unJ it was with didicnlty I could pursue
my ousiness. In short, not to swell tiiis state
lent witli a detail of ny exireme sufferings, my
ituatiuu was desperate. Many re pectabiephy-
ficians were consulted, whose skill was exhaus
ted in vain, tfellno relief from their prescrip
tions. I was then admitted 11 patienttotne Penn
sylvania Hospital, where l remained for some
time under the are ofthe surgeons of tiiat insti
tution, without hope of a relief: their remedies
served only to aggravate my complaint. A
leugththe dirop, . - Cuisiuier, or Compound Si
rop of Sarsaparilla, was ordered, of which I took-
a considerable quantity without any evident -intis
of amendment. Finally 1 took my discharge,
and placed myself under tlie care of Mr. I’oiter.
and commenced his Catholieun, a continued use
of which, to the amount of five bottles, takunac
cording to the direction,completely renovated me;
! felt its power in the couse ofthe first few day-
after 1 had commenced taking it, and at present
1 feel myself perfectly cured, not huvingabont 1110
a symptom of that complaint to which 1 had t*
long been a martyr.

JOHN CARR.
