TO THE PUBLIC.
ffj’ I request those who have been cured of

Widow ofthe late Win W. Potter.
The Catholican consists exclusively of vege
table matter, and with u slight determination to
the bowels, w hich it prawn esm a soluble stale,
acts insensibly, is pleasant to the taste, aud re
quires no particular regimen or confinement. As
a gentle cathartic medicine, improving the appe
tite and icstoring the general tone of the system,
it is confidently recommended to ladies in u deli
cate situation.
There are aj this time several spurious mix
tures in circulation ’abroad, and some - ended ill
tliis city, assuming to possess the same or
equal virthues of Potter’s Catholieou. It is
to be hoped, that the unsuspecting will be placed
on their gua'd against such impositions, as much
miscliicfhas resulted from their use. They
consist principally of sarsaparilla sirops, viz.
Sirop de Cuisinier or Rob L’Aflecteur, and
are sold for a much less price; you will,
therefore he particular, and purchase of none

TO SOUTHERN PLANTERS.
Tile very flattering accounts which are dxib
received ofthe superior efficacy of Potter’s Ca-

population ofthe South, almost entitle it to the ap

premature grave.

EiT,—The benefit wliich I received from tile
us.* of vour iuvalaable medicine, impels me, as a
matter of duty, to make mv cuse public, for the
benefit ofthose who may be laboring under coin
plaints similar to my own.
For four years 1 was afflicted with unexcrutia
ting complaint, which showed itself first by avio
lent erruptionin my hack, from w hence it spread
to both uiv shoulders, and from thence down
wards, un'il mv whole body became almost an
eutire scab ; it then commenced oti the leftside
ofiny face, extending upon mv head-thence a
cross to the other side, forming the letter S in its
course; mv whole frame became excessively
minl'u! arid sore, and when uy clothing came in
contact the ulceration on my back, the
.'lightest tone 1 ’ would [dace me in the greatest
agony, and it in; with difficulty I could pursue
re v business. In short, not. to swell this slate
rieai with a detail of my extreme sufferings, my
situation war desperate. Many respectable phy-
tii-" Uis were con idled, whose skill wasexham-
■A in vain. 1 fell no' relief from their prescrip-
ioas. I wut then admitted a patient totiie Penn-
-ylvania Hospital, where l remaiued.for some
time tiuder the care ofthe surgeons ofthat iusti-
iution, without hope of a relief: their remedies
served only to aggravate my complaint. A
length the Sirop. de Cuisinier nr Compound Si
rap ofSarsaptrdla. was ordered, of which Itooli-
a considerable quantity without any evident signs
of amendment. Finally I took mv discharge
aud placed myself under the care of Mr. Potter,
and commenced his Catholican, a continued use
of which, to ilia amount of five bottles, taken ac
cording to the direction,completely-renovated me;
! fell its power n ■ tliecouso ofthe first few days
after I had corameneed taking it, and at present
I feel myself perfectly cured, not havingubout me
a symptom of that complaint to which I hud* ,
long been a martyr.

WARD’S VEGETABLE HAIR
OIL.
I N all ages of the World a beautiful Head of
Hair has been considered the greatest orna
ment ever bestowed by nature upon die human
frame, and indispensably necessary to the per tec-
ion ofpersonul beauty. It is u very genre,u com
plaint of young persons, that then hail is tailing
otfor becoming dry und unhealthy; this ma v be
owilur to the anplieation of improper aii/l ii !■'»:
ous oils, or to tlie entire neglect oi'tlie hair. With
out proper attention, diseases ofthe liair will a
rise, which are often found to occasion thinness,
fulling off und frequently total baldness. For
these evils, und the necessary inconvenience* at
tending them, Ward's Vegetable Hair Oil will he
found in all cases a sure remedy. Before offer
ing this Oil to the public it had been tried in hun
dreds of cases of baldness, thinness and falling off
ofthe liair aud iu every instance its salutary ef
fects have been realized to admiration. It has
never failed to produce a new & beautiful growth
of hair on heads already bald und to check that
falling off which so often occurs. In cases where
i. becomes dry und ceases to gro.v, this Od will
very soon render it healthy and produce a rapid
and beautiful growth without the least injury to
the most delicate head; nor does any failing off
follow after using it. That loss of liair which so
often take place after sickness, limy he easily pre
vented by using this celebrated Oil. Ill shortno
Oil has ever been offeited to the public that gives
such universal satisfaction and stands the test of
experience like Ward’s Vegetable Hair Oil.
That the public may rest assured ofthe salutary
effects of tins Oil, the following testimonials from
gentlemen of high respectability arc most respect
ffilly submitted:—
Lowkli., March 21,1832.
I certify that my Muir was falling off very rap
idly, end 1 found I should be entirely bald in a
short time, if I could not find some remedy. On
having E. A. Ward’s Vegetable Hair Oil recom
mended to me, I made trial of it, and to my great
astonishment, I soon found my Hair restored.
IRA FRYE
To E.A Ward of Lottdl.

to you, for the grea 1 benefit 1 have received from
yourtmlv valuable Oil. Having had the misfor
