to such, Swaiui’s Panacea must he and has been
neon more than doubly valuable as a certain nnd
effectual moans of losloring them to perfect
health and vigor. Few families are wholly ex-
emptfrom scorbutic affections, which oxhibit va
rious.symptoms, as eruptions, ulcerations, debil
ity, loss ol appetite and dejection, all arising from
impure blood, und if not properly attended to,
produces tho greatest injury to tho constitution,
aud may bo imparted to their offspring, Swuim’a
Panacea is recommended at this season of tlio
year, a* nn invaluablo restorative of tlie system,
thereby invigorating the constitution, and ena
bling to hear thedebili uiiug effects of the summer
season. It is conveyed hy the oirculating fluids
and corrects their lead mey to ull those diseases
which originate in violated blood, diseased liver,
depraved appetite, and predisposition to affec
tum of tho lungs, Ac. No one, however, is ad
vised to use it without convincing s-beimclvcs of
tho truth of what is hero stated.
Thismedieino is now used with success in all
parts of tho world, and is gaining great reputa
tion in England.

COMPOUND FLUID EXTRACT OF
PINK ROOT,
(S PIG ELIA MARI LAN QIC A.)
The most effectual IForm-ileslraying Medicine yet
disease red.
T HERE is no disease of so cxtouuive a cha
racter among children as Worms which
aggravate oil other diseases, and nro the chief*
cause of fevers, bowel complaints, nnd chinuic
nnd nervous diseases incident to childhood, which
nro luimerous and frequently fatal. It is n fact
much to he regretted, that thousands of children
nro swept off, or uro rendered feeble, paid and
emaciated through the first stages of life, which
lends on to pulmonary complaints, Ac. Most
of the remedies made uso of for this disease arc
strong drastic medicines of a poisonous chnrac
ter, which debilitate tho stomach, nnd often ma
ter’mlly injure the health of patients. Tlio Oil of
Wormsoed. which has been recommended uud
prescribed ut present by tho faculty, is so deteri
orated by adulteration aud mixture, or the pro
duct of inferior seed, that no dependence whatev
er can he placed upon it. Tho Worm Tea. as
it is commonly eailod, composed cldefly of Pink
Root, is made so very inferior, almost wholly of
slalks aud loaves, that it is almost worthless; and
there in no preparation in a convenient form of
exhibition which is considered safe and approved
of by the faculty. The Pink Root is considered
by ail who are acquainted with its properties to
ho ono of the safest uud most effectual remedies.
There is. however, considerable of that which
is sold almost worthless, containing hut n small
portion of the root; it also requires considerable
carp and attention in extracting its properties,
which is not generally done hy those iwiucquain-
ted with phnrmncouticnl preparations. Undet
these circumstances, G. W. Cnrpenter has tho’t
it advisable to prepare nil extract oftho Spigelin,
combined with several of the vegetable remedies
most approved of, for tlio convenience of the fnc-
why, particularly those in tho country, and he
feels assured he will he supported by them in the
introduction ofthisnrticle, whoso composition is
known and can ho prescribed hy them in safety
nnd confidence, and will bo the means of putting
down the various nostrums introduced by the ig
norant and inexperienced, aud which me pro
duci’ive of serious evils to the community. This
articlo will ho carefully prepared of uniform
strength, und can he administered with xufuty to
persons under any circumstances.
There is no disease which produce*so much
disturbance in tho system ns worms. Not only
do they aggravate ordinary diseases, Imt they
give rise to n great variety of very alarming
anomalous affections. Tho whole train ofspas-
wmdio and convulsive diseases uuy proceed from
tho irritation of worms in the alimentary canal
Cholera, epilepsy, catalepsy, tetanus, paralysis,
mania and convulsions, as well as a variety of
other n.'rvous ami convulsive alfections, are not
iinfreqiioutly tlm immediate effects of this cause.
Beside* these diseases, worms have also been
known to produco pleurisy, pains iu the side,
dysentery, remitting feyer, dropsy oftho brain,
chronic und spasmodic cough, Ac.
