OGNEltAL REMARKS
RELATIVE TO MOFAT’S LIFE PILLS
AND PHCENLX BITTERS.
HESE medicines have long boon known
and appreciated, for their extraordinary
immediate power* of restoring perfect
health, to peraon* suffering under nearly every
kind of disease to which the human frame is
liable.
In many hundred* of certificated instances,
they have oven rescued sufferers front the very
verge of an uutimely grave, after all the deoop-
tive nostrums of the day had utterly f tiled; and
to ninny thousands they have permanently se
cured that uniform enjoyment of hoallh. without
which life itself is but a partiul blessing. So
S reat indeed, has their efficacy iuvuriubly and in-
dlihly proved, that it has appeared scarcely
less than miraculous to those who wore unac
quainted with tho beautifully philosophical
principles npott which they are compounded,
aud iinou which they consequently act. It was
to their manifest aiul sensible actum in purify
ing the apriugs and channels of life, and eiido
ing them with renewed tone aud vigor, that
they were indebted fur their name, which was
bestowed upon them atthospontnuuous requost
of govern! individuals whoso lives they had obvi
ously saved.
The proprietor rojoices in tho opportunity nf.
forded by the universal diffusion of tho daily
press, for placing his VEGETABLE LIFE
PILLS within the knowledge and reach of eve.
ry individual in the community. Unlike llie
host of pernicious quackeries, which boast of
vegetable ingredients, the Life Pills are purely
mid solely vegetable, and contain neithor mercury,
antimony, arsenic, nor any other mineral, in
any form whatever. They are eiilitely com
posed of extracts from rnroond poweiful plants,
the virtues of which, though long known to sev-
eral Indian tribes, and recently to some eminent
ilnfrmnceiuical chemists, aro altogether nn
mown to the ignorant pretenders to medical
wiencjj; and were never before administered
in so Happily eUicaciona a combination.
THE PHCENIX BITTERS, uro so called,
because they possess tho power of restoring Uie
expiring ember* of health, to a glowing vigor
throughout the constitution, os the Phumix is
said to be restored to life from the ashes of its
own dissolution. Tho Phamix Bitters are en
tirely vegetable, composed of roots found only
in certain parta of the western country, which
will iufalibly euro FEVER8 AND AGUES o.
all kinds; will never fail to eradicate entirely
all the effects nf mercury, infinitely sooner than
tho most powerful preparations ol'Sarsoparillu,
and will immediately cure the determination of
BLOOD TO THE HEAD; never fail imho
sickness incident to young females; and will bo
found a certain remedy in all ousos of nervous
debUily and weakness oi the most impaired con
stitutions. As a remedy for Chronic and In
flammatory llheumaiism, the e licacy of the Plan-
nix Bitters will be demonstrated by the use of a
single bottle. The usual dose of these bitters is
hair a wine glass full, in water or wine, and this
quantity may bo taken two or three tunes u day,
about hulf utt hour before moats, ora less quan
tity may he taken at all times. To those who
are afflicted with indigestion after meals, these
bitters will prove invnuishlH. nn they v#*ry great
ly increase the action of the principal viscera,
help them to perform their functions, and enable
the stomach to discharge into the bowels what
ever is offensive. This indigestion is easily and
speedily removed, appetite restored, unu the
mouths of the nbsnibunt vessels being demised,
nutrition is facilitated and slienglh of body and
energy of mind uro the Imppy results.
In soma obstinate aud complicated cases of
chronic and inflammatory Rheumatism* Liver
Complaints, Fever ami Ague, Dyspepsia, Palsy,
Piles, injuries from the use of mercury, quinine,
and other diseases of Ions standing, it nmy be
found necessary to tuko noth the Life Pills and
tiie Phumix Bitters, in tho doses before re-ont-
mended.
N B.—These Pills and the Uittnr* will got
nil mercury out of tho system infinitely faster
than the best preputationa of Sarsaparilla, ami
are a certain remedy for the rushing of Hood to
the head, or all violent haulaches, tic douteureux,
&o. All persons who are predisposed to apo-
■exy. palsy, &c , should never he without the
ife Pills or the Bitters, for one dose ill time
will safe life. They equalize the circulation of
the blond, draw all pressure from the hand, re
store perspiration, and throw otf every impuri
ty by Uie pores nf the skill.
