Wo refer our renders to the commercial bend

Copious extracts relative toilie money market
will be found below. It will be seen that the
English money maiket hat been a little relieved
by the operation* of the Bank of England, but
that remittances were yet expected from this
country, with tho greatest anxiety. The Liver

MONEY MARKET & CITY INTELLI
GENCE.
Saturday Keening, March 25/A.
Tho feeling in the city Im* become more Iran-
nil today, but there is not in general much con-
denco in its continuance, especially a* the ac
count* from Liverpool denote a very unsettled
state of credit there, which was to ho expected,
indeed, from tha intimate connexion ofthut place
with tiio United States. Independently of the
regular commercial transactions, the trading in
terests in Liverpool is more embarrassed, per-
hapr, by speculations of a miscellaneous nature
thuo any other part of tho kiflgdum. An arrival
from New York nt this port was announced in
the course ofthe afternoon, and though the let
ter* and paper* were lint delivered generally,
enough transpired to show thtit matters there,
are in an unsatisfactory Mnie. The quotation of

FROM FRANCE,
The date* from I'liris are to the 27th March.
The dislocation and reconstruction of tho French
ministry was the great topic of discussion.
The struggle fur toe chief place in hi* Majes

continued, and with nearly equal chances of suc
cess. Gen. Bernard, it i* said would positively
retuo fiom the War Department No applica

or M. Ifunmini to re-enturtho ministry.
Tho distress of die commeicinl and manufac

to keep pace with the increaso of political bit

week* longer, however, before the full effect of
the late occurrences ofthe money market in Lon
don, aro manifested in that ol New York.
Morning Evening, March Vllh.
The exterior anpect ofthe money marketlooks
better, but under the surface tliere -still remain
very serious difficulties to he ndjunted. The
strength of the combination to support commer
cial credit, which has been generally compro
mised b> the great American and East India op
erations, is very great, so as to secure the Bank
at all events against In**, nnd it has extended,
it seems, far beyond the immediate connexions
ofthe merchant* m tho*e departments of trade,
Panics have been called upon to club their so-
curity for sums of from 5,000/. to 10,000/. each,
and nave generally consented to do ho, out of
theirdesire to guard agumst the great evil of a
stoppage by those who are under such unwise'
engagements, against ifie effect of which pertr-p*
no man would be able to pronounce himself se
cure. No Inter than Thursday last, assistance
of this sort was in requisition and obtained, nnd
the difficulties aro now carried over to a more
distant period than i* usual in such cases, the
loans being for five, six, and seven .ttionih*. By
that time, if the American merchant* fulfil their
engagements, and pay the immense debt they
owo to thin country, we shall be uiico more in a
safe position.
The effect of the temporary relief thus pro
duced ha* been felt very sensibly at the Stock
Exchange, where the business however was not
mi a large scale. Consols left off firmly at 904
to ft for money,and 90ft to ft for the account;
Exchequer bills ut 29s to 31* premium; and In
dia Bond* at 28 to29* pram.
Though there was not any very decided ad
vance in the prices in the ibreign slock market,
previous quotations were fully maintained, nnd
in sonio instance* there was an improvement.

ritie* having ndviyicm) in consequence ofthe ad
justment or differences with New Granada; and

Thursday Keening.
Thero is mv new feature ill tho commercial
money market. Much distrust still prevail*, and
to appearance wiU coniinue to do so until it i*
seen to what extent, and to what manner, the
raerchuMB of tho JJ. Slates are prepared to meet
their obligations jib'the merchants of“ tills coun

“ Some transactions took place to-day in Cot
