SANGUINARY FIGHTING AT SEVASTO
POL.
The Allies have gained ground at Sevastopol,
and taksn most of the Russian outworks. The
fighting htd been moat sanguinary and obstinate,
and many prisonora were taken.
Tha Allies had met with aomo success, but thole
position was considered more critlcst than ever.
The latest dates from the Crimoa wore to tho
4th Inst. There was daily telegraphic communi
cation betweon Sevastopol and London, but tho
Government was very cautious about giving out
