It ia a paper of eminent ability,reminding one, by it® bold position®, itf patriotic sentiment®, and it® terseness of expression, of tho celebrated British Magna Charts and :he Amerloao Declaration of Independence- It will be observed, that there was no difference of opinion whatever, upon any portion of the plat form, except tho twelfth section, and in relation to the tenure of office by American Catholics. Upon this latter point we cuild hnvo wished for greater liberality. Upon the subject of slavery, no party in the Union occupies a more sound and national position: It is just to the ?«uih and just to the North, und true to the Constitution.
