Stephen* addressed them for more than two hour*.
At tbe oloee of Mr. Stephens' speech, Jamea
Thomas, Eaq., announced that tnoee opposed to the
Amerlean Party would meet at the Court-houM at
Ho'eloek in the afternoon.
Col. Thotnae M. Turner arose and alated that it
was the intention of the Amerlean Party to hold a
meeting at the name time and place, and that he
was rising at the time Mr. Thomas did, to make
such announcement; but as Mr. Thomas had an»
lloipated him, ho would—if (hero was no obieotion
—Introduce a set ol Resolutions which had been
drawn up by a Committee ol tho American Party,
to the meeting then convened. No objection be*
lug made, Mr. Stephenseayiughe lud no objection,
it the opposite eide could bo hoard.
