The Central Kailroad Company and the Augueta
A Wayneahoro Railroad Company offered to oarry
the mails at #237.10 per mile per annum# with a
proviso that If the Postmaster General would put

linued on tho line, at #150 per mil® per annum.
The Muscogee & Southwestern Hoads from Ma
con to Columbus offered at #2tK)por mil# lor single
service or #300 par mile for double service, with
proviso to cariy th# great mail ai half those rates.
The Georgia Railroad Company bid #237.50 per
mile,and tho Lagrango Company alao bid #237.30
per milo for double service.
Tho Postmaster General accepted all the bids,
and gave to lire line through Macon and Columbus
