This Is to certify that I planted ono hundred and alx-

nnd I consider them superior to any thing of the kind I
have ever soon or tried. The saving of seed alone would
i pay for the machines in a season or two, and I think a

• cotton planted the common way.

.Messrs, Randall A- Mercer —Gonllonien: In reply to
yours of this dato, I can any with saHitsction, that I
have used your cotton seed drills on the farm of D. A.
V'nann, Esq., with great success. I consider them to be
ol great value. They aro a saving of about one-third
of Ihe labor of cultivation, about two to three bushels
nt seed to the acre lu planting, ami s great saving of
1 labor In planting, as they open the furrow, drop and
cover th seed with one horse and hand. 1 think them
worth one liuhdred dollars a piece to any planter, that
plants lull crons of cotton. As for mysdlf I would not
plant a crop ofcolton without them for no consideration

Gentlemen:—I fool under nhliguliotta to you for tho

We have bad some cholera here on the Mlssissppl

‘laying out” nml burying one of our citizens who wus
supposed to have died with the disease. Tho next
morning I was taken with severe vomiting, accompanied
with coldness of the exiremellos. Wnrtn covering nml
hot applications failed to res'ore warmth. M- wife's

ing tho cholera season In t uffulo In 1810, advised me to
take it. 1 took two doses at In'ervalsortlftecn minutes;
a line perspiration ensued, ami the next day, barring a
little weakness, I wns well, nnd have beon since.
It may have boon an attack of Ague, but whether
