The Committee on Fire Department, who woro' appointed to ascertain if a suitable lot could bo ob tained, upon which to rotnovo the Engine House now occupied by Young America Fire Company, report that none can bo had m that vicinity, and would therefore recommend that instead ol an ad ditional story being added to the present Engine House, it bo replaced by a new Houso of larger dimensions, and tho Cotninitteo on Fire Depart ment bo authorized to obtaiu a suitable plan and advertiso lor proposals for building tins same. Au Ordinance granting to tho Charleston and Savnnnuh Rail Road Company the right to cross or pass through one or moro public streets in the city of Savannah, under certain restrictions, was rend tho first time, and on motion, was read the second tunc, and being Amended to conform to the restrictions placed on tho Savannah, Albany and Gulf Rail Road, was passed.
