Drvn Snt:—Y"ii n-k me for my opiniuii of "Silvera

Simp and Planing Mill. I give you with pleasure niy full
and li-uily recomnn mlufioii of it a.* a preventive of lire
coinniiini'-aling from chiinn-ys, or fioin ndjuining build
ing*. The Paint which you put 011 my rools, has now l»i-
ciiiin-ns hard as *i.*TK. and I li--l 11. sii-uri' from lire, iu
! till* direction, as is pos«lh|e. a few weeks nfl'T the rtMifs
I had la-eii paiiit-d, I made ail experiment on two or three
I shingles hv placing lli'-in in th- fni nnce under the ladh-rs
tin-result'was. Ihiil th" portion uiicovereil was eiitirely
' (-oil-uni- d, while tin- paint' d part was apparently *.nind,
though upon i .lamination tin- wood was found to la-

to coinin' lid it as an invaluable preventive against fire.
