SILVER’S PLASTIC PAINTS.
Cheap, Durable and Protective.
WEATHER AND FIRE PROOF.
T HIS PAINT will stand anywllmate, without crack
or blister and hardens by exposure, thus making in
time an enamel of stone, protecting Wood from decay,
and Iron and other metals from rust and corodon.
This Paint differs from tbe socalled Mineral Paints of
the day, which are principally Ochres and Clays colored,
and are entirely worthless.
Silver’s Plastic Palma are pnnly metallic, containing
no Alumln or Clay.
Thoy are levigated finely, mix readily with Linseed Oil,
(without the trouble of grinding,) and flow under tho
oruah aa freely as the best white Lead.
These Paints excel all others in body or covering pro
perties, one pound of which will cover as mnch surfaco
as two pounds of White Lead.
There are four natural colors, vis; Block or Slate,
Brown, Olive and Chocolato.
Directions : This Paint flows readily under tho brush
and its covering property Is Increased by using it mixed
as thickly as possible with pure Linseed Oil; as the Paint
is the lasting or protecting body and tbe Oil simply the
medium or agent in spreading It.
Wo annex copies of two letters, onafrom the President

J. S. Silver, Esq.—Dear Sir: Wo havo used your "Plas
tic Paints" for more than a year, and for Painting Bridges,
Depots, Ac* Ac* wo have found it quite equal to any
paint we have used. In flirt, wo now give it a preference
over all othors we have tried for such purposes.
Yours, respectfully,

DkaoSir:—You ask mo .for my opinion of "Silver’s
Mineral Paints," which you have put on my Machine
Shop and Planing Mill. I give you with pleasure my full
and hearty recommendation of it as a preventivo of flro
communicating from chimneys, or from adjoining build
ings. The Paint which you put on my roofs, has now bo-
como as hard as slate, and I feel as secure from fire, in
thia direction, as is possible. A few weeks after the roofs
had been painted, I made an experiment on two or three
shingles by placing them la tho ftirnace under the boilers
tho result was, that the portion uncovered was entirely
consumed, whito the painted port was apparently sound,
thongh upon examination tho wood wm found to he
charred 5 tho paint, however, was mu and but little blis
tered. I consider this m sovere a teat as your Paint can
be pnt to, and uuder the circumstances I do not hesitate
to commend it os an invaluable preventive against fire.
Respectfully, Ac.
(Signed) AMBROSE SPENCER.
