and are entirely worthless.
Silver’s Plastic Paints are purely metallic, containing
no Alumln or Clay.
They are levigated finely, mix readily with Linseed OH,
(without the trouble of grinding,) and flow under the
brash as freely as the best White Lead.
These Paints excel all others In body or covering pro
perties, one pound of which will cover as much surface
as two pounds of White Lead.
There aro four natural colors, vb: Black or Slate,
Brown, Olive and Chocolate.
Dixccnoxs: This Paint flow* readily under the brash
and its covering property is increased by using it mixed
as thickly as possible with pure Linseed OH; as tho Paint
to the luting or protecting body and the Oil simply the
medium or agent in spreading It.

of the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad Co., tbe other
from a gentleman, a well known resident of Augusta,

J. 8. Srtvxx, Esq.—Dear 8ir: Wo tiavo used your "Plas
tic Paints" for more than a year, and for Paintihg Bridges,
Depots, Ac., Ac., we have found U quite equal to any
paint we have used. In tact, we now give it a preference
over all others wa have tried for such purposes.
Yours, respectfully,

DxaxSix:—Ton uk me for my opinion.of "Silver's
Mineral Paints," which you have put on ray Machine
Shop and Planing 3IU1. I give yon with plrunre my frill
and hearty recommendation of ti as a preventive or flro
communicating from chimneys, or from adjoining build
ings. The Paint which yon put on my roofo. has now bo-
come u hard u slate, and I feel os secure from fire, in
this direction, m is possible. A few weeks after the roofs
had been painted, I made an experiment on two or three
shingles by plncing them in tho fnmace under tbe boilers
the result was, that the portion uncovered wa* entirely
consumed, while the painted part wu apparently sound,
though upon examination the Wood was found to be
charred; the paint, howover, wu mM and but little blis
tered. I consider this u severe a test u your Paint can
bo put to, and uuder th* circumstances I do not hesitate
to commend it u an Invaluable preventive against fire.
Respectfully, Ac.
AMBROSE SPENCER.
