A New Treaty with the United .States.
Moiii.k, Feb. 20.—Tho Mexican war steamer
Guerrero has arrlvod at this port, In fivo days from
Vera Cruz. She brings as passengers I>r. Craw
ford, bearer uf despatches to our Government from
Mr. Forsyth, tho American .Minister; Col. Butlor-
ficld, tho bearer of an important treaty just con
cluded by Mr. Forsyth with tho Government of
Muxicu; and Don Barradurnno, Secretary of Mexi
can Legation nt Washington, with a copy of tho
same treaty. Tho Government ton doted the steam
er to Mr. Forsyth, nnd the party left Muxiao pri
vately in order to avoid tmspioiou. The parly
proceed to Washington to-day.
Co rumunfart’s administration was gaining
strength, and the rebellion was considered elfuctu-
ally crushod. Several uf its leaders hnd been ar
rested.
The commandor of tho steamer says, If the treaty
Is accepted by our government, tho steamer will
remain and undergo repairs; otherwise sho will
return immediately to Vera Cruz.
