“Kiss mu Qcick”.—This is tbo fancy name of a
new and delightful perfume, said to be extracted
from sweet tulips. It will doubtless become a groat

particulars are given.
A Noted Tmisr in Limbo.—Wo mentioned
some days ego, among the local items, that a man
had lost most of the fingers of one hand while
meddling with the movable engine used on the
dock fur loading and unloading vessels. He turn

Pitt tor trb Unfortunate.—There is nothing
•3 creditable to the heart of tbe American petq lo
as tbe promptness and liberality with which they
always respond to the wants of tbe unfortunate.
Their sympathy is even carried so far as in many
enses to set aside the dictates of judgment, their
native goodnen preferring occasionally to patron-
lie tbe unworthy mther than incur tbe risk of
letting a real object of charity go away empty.
Wo yesterday received a visit from ooe of tbe

tbe blessings of Providence on the heads of all who
abonid be kind enough to give. There was also
a "P. 8." attached, stating that "the bearer could
not speak a word of English.”
We do not desire our readers to >e impressed

A Woman’s Thoughts about Women. By the
author of "John Halifax, Gentleman." "The

practical life which should be spread abroad and
carefully treasured up. The work Is addressed
■ingle women alono, and does not concern mar
ried women, for whom tbe author says, "(hero are
always plenty to think, and who have generally
quite enough to think of, for themselves and tbon-
belonging to them.”
The following extract from the first chapter • f
the "Thoughts” is full of good sense, sound phi

tbe constitution to g > by tho board between the

who has watched tho course uf events for some
years past, can como to a different couclnsion. On
the other bund, the Black Republican party is •
disorganising associttiou, n »t intended to build up
and strengthen, hut to tear down and destroy.—
Many good men, who havo bcea*educed to it* ranks

These facts havo cuu-od men to east about for a
remedy for tko potilieal evil* that are upon us—
a substitute for exiting parties t*» which they can
give a willing serviro of both heart and hand.—
They have been the victim* of necessity and du

will command tho cjiubiucd homage of their sym

A lato number of the Richmond \VM>j, has some

it may not be amiss to transfer to our column*.

Neither the Democratic nor th Black Republican
