Three Negroes In Stewart County Mur der a •eantlful Lady—Bob the Dwell ing and Burn the Crib Captured and Lynched by 300 Whiles and Blacks. Columbus, Ga., May 28.—Last Fri day morning, before daybreak, Mrs. C. C. Chambliss, of Btewiut county, was mmdered by tbrs* negroes in the neighborhood. Tbry fired the fences end drew ber husband away from the beuee, the negroea then proceeded to tbe house to rob it, end were met by Mrs. Chambliee. a beautiful woman, aged eighteen yeere, armed with a gun. One ef the negroes, Jerry Snead, tojk the gnn from her, lodged tho conteuta in?ber bead, causing her death instant |j. Tbe negroea burned tbe eorn erib nnp fled. They were pursued and esptnred. Jerry admitted tbe deed. And implicat ed b>* companions, Stephen Abram and William Booth. They were brought to Chambliae' bouce that afternoon, and it waa uoaaunoualy decided by about 300 white* eod black* present that they should be banged. A gallows was erected tnd the murderers were hsnged with traoe chains.
