Inquest. —There was an inquest
held over the person of Ed. Gray, mur
dered near Patterson, and the verdict
of the jury was that ho came to his

Accident —The passenger train
going west on the 14th instant, did not
arrive here until about 8 o’clock a. in ,
being nbrut eight hours delayed by run

False Accusation —The crime
that dames M. Sweat was accused of
some time hack in our department was
ot first misrepresented to us, and conse
quently we are called upon to correct
tho error, which wo take pleasure in
doing. The second report to u, is that
James M. Sweat did notemimit the
offuoco charged t> him. That it was
out of malice existing between him and
the fnuily that tho report got out, and,
furthermore, him and Miss Goodwin aro
not cousins, and that he has never de
serted his home at all.
