Our Trip To Blackshear.
On last Thursday wo left Jesup at
’l2 oclock for Blackshcar to atten i to
n little busmens for the “boss ’
We arrived in diat thriving and beau
tiful little town at 3 oclock, whore we
found every thing quiet and in a
prosperous condition Pretty soon after
our arrival wo went to the Cert House,
where we found our friend and worthy
coutrbutor, Mr. K Z. Jyril, who sp ired
no pains in eniert ni g and m king us
feel at home. Wi Wr happy t,. form
the acquaiutane and Mr. H. G. Ri-’gins
Mayor, and Mr. A. J. Siiickland.

'Executive Committee, called the meet
'>ng to order, and in a onnoiae and well

the meeting.
On motion Dr. W. 8. Middleton was
railed to the chair and W. W. Colquitt
requested to act as Secretary. The
credentials of the delegitcs from the
various districts being presented, it was
found that the 334 district wa* uot rep
resented, and it was resolve! that the
.meeting proceed without them. On
motion it wag resolved that d-legati s
'to the Senatorial Convention be select
ed. The Chairman was authorized to
appoint five as a committee to select
i five delegates to said C invention. The

Upon the petition of James Knox to have
the road lending fioin Lulaton by tho resi
dence of O. K. Highsmith and interceding
with tlieCentrcvillage road ear his resi
dence made a public road, i is ordered by
the Court that the same be considered a pub
lic road and shall be worked as suedr It is
further ordered that the Cleric cf this Court
furnish the Commissioners of the 335th Dis
trict with a certified copy of this order, and
said Commissioners ale directed nud re
quired to have said road opened, and an
oveisee- and hands apdointed for said road.
This order to faite eft’ect thirty days from
date, unless good excuse is shown to the
contrary.
Upon the report of the reviewers appoint
ed to review a contemplated road, commu
nicating at or near the five mile post on the
Jesup and Screven road and running to the
eight mile post on the Screven and Homer
ville load; said road to run by the residence
of liraxton Bennett, crossing Boggs swamp
at the Judin Thompson Ford, thence l>v the
residence of G. W. O'Qiiinii, crossing Reedy
creek near I’enny Douglas’s, and interceding
with tho Screven and Homerville road as
aforesaid; that said contemplated road will
he one of much public utility. It is therefore
ordered that said road be, and the same is
hereby established as one of the public roads
in said county. And it is further ordered
that the Clerk o f this Court furnish the Com
m ssioniTs of the 1217t1i District wilii a cer
tified copy of this order, and si id commis
sioners era directed and required to hav,
said road opened and an overseer and hands
appointed for said road. This older to take
ertect thiitydays from date, unless good
cause is shown to the contrary.
Upon the petition of James Knox, showing
that a change in the Centieviilage road to
have it cross the mill branch below Knox's
mill will conduce to the convenience of the
traveling public, and the people of the
neighborhood, through which said road will
pass, it is hereby ordered that Owen K.
Highsmiih, E. K. Walnrignt and Joseph
Wainrght Vie and they are hereby appointed
reviewers of said contemplated roa 1, and
should said reviewers find said contemplat
ed road of public utility, they are hereby di
rected and required to make out the same,
and make a report thereof under date to this
