lost a noble son, and every citizen

LARGE SAW MILL DESTROYED.
Valdosta Man Loses Much Property In
Florida.
Valdosta. Ga., Dec. 11.—Colonel W.
West, of this city, received a telegram
which informed him that his large
eaw mill at Summerfield, Fla., had
been burned.
The mill was valued at more than
$60,000, and there was more than 30P,
000 feet of lumber in the yard ready
for shipment.
Colonel West carried J25.000 insur
atice, and his loss, above insurance,
is about $30,000, probably much more,
if the lumber on hand was destroyed.
