EDUCATION Editor Jesup S»ntn'-I: Dear sir: Through the much appreciated columns of the Sentinel 1 have been keeping up with the Educa tional move of our county and I beg space to say that I heartily endorse local »chool taxation provided Jwe have equal rights. We need more school houses small er school districts and better teachers. This will help the av erage attendance in our schools and reach the illiterate of our county. But rot longer than a six months term, Remember this w ill give the boys and girls SIX years school between six aud eighteen, more than that in a public school would be time and money thrown away, Even six months is longer than the nv"r age man can spare the boys and girls out ,f i hf cotton held*. While the ideal and well to-do are glad to have their ehildreu out their way all tlie time. Wene-dihe same ‘alary paid to every scIom 1 in tl e county ex Cf-ut w here an assistant teacher is lleeifed. U’ot-‘X every man alike, lets give eveiy chilli the Mime chance. And if any school or town wants to raise the salary thev can do so according to abili* tv. This is only n few thoughts j on this important que-tion And 1 ask the citizens and tax payers of our county to find out where there money is g. ing, and who is going in get it, and be d, term inert to educate tl eir boys and girls before tiny tax them.
