Albany Drug Go., Ppecial Apents To Increase -Police Force at Regular Meeting on Monday Night, At the next meeting of the City Council, which will be held on Mon day night, the resolution of the Board of police commissioners will be pre sented asking that *be present force of the city he Increased by the addition of at least one man. It Is not known wljat the action of the council will Hi, Should It prove to be the opinion of the body that the financial condition Is such as to war rant the increased expense which compliance with the petition would entail, there is lFtle doubt that the request will he complied with, and at least one patrolman added to the pres ent force. Members of the Police Commission assert that the necessity for Increas ing the present force ip imperative, and cannot be much longer ignored. The recent rapid increase of popula tion and the takina in of more terri tory make conditions such that the present force is insufficient. The council will also consider the matter of furnishing side arms to members of the force, as requested by the Police Commission.
