NEW YORK COTTON LETTER.
Daily by Private Wire to lnOa.
C. D. FREEMAN & CO.
COTTON PICKINGS.
Furnished for Dally Herald Readers
by Clark & Co.
Liverpool did her duty this morn
ing and showed a general bullish front.
Cotton is cotton as long as the great
English market buys 10,000 a day.
This morning’s New York Herald
and New Orleans Picayune contained
sensationally bullish articles claiming
the South was In position to piako its
own price for the unsold portion of
the crop.
A rumor was'ir tlrcualtloif to the
effect, that, on account of the mem
bers being speculators, the National
Ginners’ had been I purposely made
bearish.
Shenrson, Hubard and Weld bought
heavily on the opening In New York.
Heavy buying orders from Europe
supported New Orleans on the open
ing.
Some angel cortinues to pay for
Prlco’s advertisements.
Exports to Englnnd have been 500,
000 less than last year.
The Moscow mills are all running
on full time.
Cunningham & Henshaw, of Liver
pool, cable: "Consumption will be
larger than last year if we can get
the cotton.”
Texas reports slnw that ginning is
practically over in the Lone Star
State.
There is considerable talk of a cor
ner In the March option.
