Yet some say "there is no demand.” TWO FIRES LAST NIGHT. A Forage House Burned and a Cottage Unroofed. The fire laddies were kept busy last night, there lveing two fires be tween 8 and 2 o'clock this morning. The first fire was at a forage house, In an alley near Planters street, near the negro normal school in South Al bany. The forage house was the prop erty of Mollio Ledbetter. It was almost totally destroyed. Another forage house and a negro cottage near by were slightly damaged. The second alarm came from the western part of the city, a / cottage owned by Major C. F. Putnam being afire. The home was occupied by a white family. The roof wns burned from the house. A barn in the rear of the back yard was also destroyed. The total damage In both fires prob ably will not amount to more than $250.
