ROSE COGHLAN In “The Duke of Kllllcrankle" at the Local Theatre Last Night. Rose Coghlan, In "The Duke of Killlcrankle,” was tha splcjidld at traction at the Rawlins theatre last night, and despite the inclement weather, a goodly number of Albany theatre-goers were In attendance. The three acts, from beginning to end of each, are “chock full” of-wit and pungent sarcasm. . The .lines are clever, cutting, and literary as well as dramtlc. The Duke of Killicran- kie" Is a quiet, easy-going society ro mance, with enough farce In • It to make It easily digestible and pleasant to take. Mr. Lynn Pratt, as “The Duke,” which Is the leading role of the play, was as clever as could be. He has, In addition to knowledge of acting, ex perience In acting, and unusual abil ity to act, a splendid stage presence, and his personal magnetism alone draws nn audience to him. He por trayed the part of a young, flippant English nobleman, who had just ’'ali en In love, to the queen's taste. Miss Coghlan, as "Mrs. Mulhol- land,” was her usual clever self. The character she portrayed last night was quite different from anything she had been seen in here before, but she took care of her part In the same capable manner as of old. Mr. Wallace Ersklne, In the com edy role of “Mr. Henry Pitt-Welby,” deserves special mention for his un usually clever work. Miss Minna Phillips, as “Lady Hen rietta Addison,” proved to be an act ress of no little merit. FOR SALE—Several vacant lots, also a number of residences, close In; some for cash, others on terms.
