It is not believed that there will be
any increase in acreage on the next
crop, for the very good reason that
there is no one to work it, and 'all
good planters know the danger of
over-cropping.

such Stoves now as you may need. You will have
them for next season and will not be compelled to pay
the advanced prices that the stove manufacturers are
having to make because of the higher prices of pig iron
and such other material as go into high grade stoves.
$12.50 Stoves reduced to $10.00, and others in
proportion all along the line. You may never see the
day come again when such stove bargains are to be had.
Liverpool remained dull throughout

NEW ORLEANS COTTON LETTER.
(Bv Wire to Olark & Co.)
New Orleans, Jan. 22.—News ol In
teresting character from Liverpool
this morning was meager both In op
tions and spots, although In the lat
ter sales of 10,000 bales were record
ed, prices unchanged.
Options closed at one point lower
than yesterday. Manchester yarns,
unchanged; clothes quiet.
On our side of the Atlantic the same
quietness prevailed, evidently In an
ticipation of the ginners’ report to
morrow, the longs seemingly satisfied
with their present commitments and
shorts showing no signs of uneasi
ness, even In the face of public opin
ion. ’ vi
In the local spot situation there Is
hut little of Interest except the re
ported Rales of 1,500 bales sold after
Saturday's close. Both holders and
prospective purchasers are apparent
ly willing to carry their convictions
over bureau and to accept the result
ns final and Inevitable.

It Is not un
reasonable to suppose that whatever
the final yield of this crop may he,
the same will be well taken care of
by the spindles of the world. Certain
it Is that as far as America is con
cerned. there can he no great fear ex
pressed that she will not do her part,
for the marvelous prosperity which
exists throughout the land, the in
creased demand for fabrics, and the
necessarily enhanced values of these
goods, the proportional increase in ca
pacity of mills to suit new trade con
ditions, are all factors.
In the light of these events we feel
that present prices are justifiable, but
