They stopped at the home o£ Mrs. H. otter a short visit at the home of Mr. C. Cox, Mrs. Stiles’ mother, on Pine and Mrs. R, L. Jones, on Broad street. . For County Treasurer. Under a recent decision of the su preme court, In the case of Glover vs. Morris, from Cobb county, It Is under stood that the offices of Clerk of the Superior Court and County Treasurer, which have been consolidated and held by one man In Dougherty county for a good many years past, will be separ ated, the supreme court having held that the act under which these two offices were consolidated is unconsti tutional. It Is presumed that the pres ent Clerk and Treasurer will continue to fill out the full term for which he Was elected, as It is hardly probable that a special election will be ordered for the purpose of having the two of fices filled by separate ‘men, but at tile next regular election for county of ficers there will be a candidate for Treasurer and one for Clerk, and Mr. Paul H. Jones authorizes The Herald to announce that he will be a candi date for County Treasurer, subject, of course, to the Democratic primary. EVERYBODY RIDES IN IT AND THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM FOR ONE MORE.
