nothing of importance transpired dur

limit, $20, and it is highly probable
that the man can find his house next

Will Make Brick for Cruger & Pace.
From the Moultrie O^perver.
E. P. Preston, a state prison guard,
came down this morning for Buck Gai
ther, the negro who was found guilty
of murder at the last terra of court
and was sentenced to life imprison
ment. Gaither was taken up to Al
bany, where he will enter the peni
tentiary conducted by Cruger & Pace,
brick manufacturers.
The delay in sending Gaither off was
due to efforts made by his attorneys
to get the sentence reduced. But
nothing could be accomplished for
him. In fact, the charge against him
was an ugly one, and it Was by the
skin of the teeth that he escaped the
gallows. It is most likely that had
he been tried soon after the murder
was committed he would have bqen
hanged several years ago. *
Gaither is a strapping big negro, 26
years old, and will make a splendid
hand for 'the people who secure his
services. He can easily earn fifty
dollars a month at common labor, and
Is In perfect health, with an expect
ancy of forty years.”
