It has for its sjory a theme that is entirely new. It is woven around eleven characters, each one of whom has a distinct reason for being there. Abel Preston and his son, Dick, are not of the same opinion con cerning tile subject of marriage. Abel contends that a man Is infinitely bet ter off in a state of single blessedness, while his son demonstrates his posi tion by marrying. This action ou the part of Dick means disinheritance, and the situations and complications that arise from the older Preston are too farcical for explanation. Brown is an assumed name and there are no less than three women figuring as Mrs. Brown. These complications arise from a call of the elder Preston upon the scene of his sons’ honeymoon. Humorous situations are brought about by the sons’ anxiety to hide his marriage from his father. Its ingen ious construction and witty dialogue together with the swiftness of its ac tion bring many surprises. The music and songs incidental to the farce are all original and do not mar the ac tion of the play. Prices, 50 and 75 cents and $t. E. Bonney, Emmett C. King, R. V. Ranous, Jefferson Lloyd and Mabelle Rother. This is said to he an even stronger and more Inter esting play than the author’s earlier drama, “The Christian,” the success of which has been greater than that of any other play for a decade. The massive scenic production is the same which attracted unusual attention at the Victoria theatre, New York, where “The Eternal City” was presented for five consecutive months, and the cast even excels that seen In the metropo lis. The management, in obtaining Miss Kennark for the role of the fas cinating Donna Roma Colonna, have secured one of the most talented act resses in America. Each of the twenty-eight parts is excellently cast. Prices, 50c, 75c, $1, and $1.50. Seats on sale tomorrow. r Frightfully Burned. Chas. W. People the world over were horrified on learning of the burning of a Chica go theatre in which nearly six hundred people lost their lives, yet more than five times this number, or over 3,000 people, died from pneumonia in Chi cago during the same year, with scarcely a passing notice. Every one of these cases of pneumonia resulted from a cold and could have been pre vented by the timely use of Chamber lain’s Cough Remedy. A great many who had every reason to fear pneu monia have warded It off by the prompt use of this remedy. The fol lowing is an instance of this sort: "Too much cannot be said in favor of Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy, and es- pecially for colds and influenza.
