GEORGIA T. P. A. TO MEET
IN ALBANY IN APRIL
In Anticipation of This and Elksl Com
ventlon, the New Albany Annex Is
Rushed.
Work Is being rushed on the annex
to the New Albany hotel, and every
effort will be made to have it com
pleted by the middle of April.
The Georgia T. P. A. will meet in Al
bany late In April, and It is on account
of this fact that no effort will be spared
to secure the completion of the annex
by that time. There will bo hundreds
of traveling men In the city to attend
the T. P. A. meeting, and many will
he accompanied by their ladles. It
will be something of an i ndertaldng
to entertain all the visitors, but tills
the new Albany will be prepared to
do with the completion of the annex.
A month later, or late in May, the
State Association of Blits will meet
In this city, and there will he a large
attendance of the Georgia members of
that order on that occasion.
The addition now being made to the
New Albany, as' well as the annex
completed two or three years ago, will
he steam heated. The apparatus is
now being installed. The new rooms
will be the most elegantly, finished and
furnished, In the house. They will
have metal ceilings, steam radiators
and many other conveniences.
“Hello, neighbor, where did you get
that nice harness?” “At the Albany
Buggy Co.’s, of course. They keep the
best line of Buggies and Harness of
any house in Geoi gla." 3-6t

It is hoped that there will be no de
lay in getting ready for beginning
work on the school building: It would
be a great pity if anything should oc
cur to prevent the completion of the
building before the time for opening
the fall term of school.
“So let it be done.”—Hercules.
“Brown’s in Town"-—A Good Farce
Comedy and Pleasing Specialties.
“Brown’s In Town,” a farce comedy,
with Miss Verne E. Sheridan In the
leading lady’s role, was the attrac
tion at the Rawlins theatre last night.
Just a handful of theatre-goers at
tended the performance, for Brown
had been in town before. The play Is,
just what It claims to be, a farce com
edy, nothing more nor less. There is
no plot In which any groat human In
terest. could center. The pipy abounds
In funny, ridiculous situations.
The cast was good, and deserved a
better audience than - greeted them
last night. Miss Sheridan was just as;
cute and cunning as could be, and she
was as well up on acting as- she was
good looking. Miss Elolse Elllston.
"Dick’s” wife, was fair.
Both Carollne'Cllfton anil Margaret
France, one ns a German helresB and
the other as “Primrose,” the cook, can
be placed in the “fair" category. Gil
bert Tossick, as “Dick Preston," and
Hugh Fay, as “Worth Carew.” took
thb honors for the male members of
the cast.
During the action of the play sev
eral specialties were Introduced by dif
ferent members of the east. Margaret
France had a splendid monologue and
song,' the latter of which she rendered
very Indifferently. Still, she would
have been encored had there been
enough people in the audience to make
the necessary noise. -
Miss Sheridan’s song was the most
enjoyable feature of the show, not on
account -jot her voice, which Is sweet
but not powerful, \)ut more
pf her “winning ways.”

The Albany Guards are congratulat
ing one another today upon their suc
cess In securing the large auditorium
for their armory for the ensuing year.
They have tried long and earnestly to
get a suitable drill and equipment
room, and it is natural that they
should feel elated at their success.
The auditorium will make a splendid
armory.
Afraid of 8trong Medicines.
Many people suffer for years from
T.eumatic pains, and prefer to do so
-ather than take the strong medicines
usually given for rheumatism, not
knowing that quick relief from pain
•nay be had simply by applying Cham
berlain's Pain Balm and without tak-
'ng any medicine internally. Rev.
Amos Parker, of Magnolia, North Car
olina, suffered for eight years with a
'ame hip, due to severe rheumatic
nains. He has been permanently
cured by the free application of Cham
berlain’s Pain Balm. For sale by Hils-
man-Sale Drag Co.
A Very Sensitive Lady*
A young lady .endowed with the
most sensitive nerves mentioned one
evening to a few friends assembled In
her drawing room thnt she had a hor
ror of the rase. "The perfume of this
flower," saia she, “gives me a severe
headache and faintness.” The conver
sation was Interrupted by the visit of
a fair friend who wore a rosebud In
her headdress. Our fair heroine turned
pale directly, tossed her arms and fell
gracefully In a swoon ’upon the otto
man. ,
“What u strange nervous suscepti
bility! Whut a delicate and Impres
sionable organisation!” cried the spec
tators. “For mercy's suite, madam, go
nway I Don’t you see tha t you have
caused tills attack?”.; >
“I V" ropiied the astonished lady.
ttYes, of course It Is the perfume of
the rosebud hi your hulr,"
“Renlly, If It is so I will saciiflce the
guilty flower, but judge Ucfoi'9 you
sentence,"
The flower, detached from the head
dress, was passed from baud to band
among the spectators, hut tliolr solici

tion. Tiie f.’.ial rosebud was all pi'tl-
