Leesburg, Ga., Feb. 16.—One of the most elegant entertainments of the Benson was given at the home of Mr. J. Bennet Tyler on Thursday evening, February 15. from 8 to 12, Mrs. J. Bennett Tyler and Mrs. J. P. Callaway being the hostesses, who entertained In honor of their guests, Miss Logan, of Macon, the attractive niece of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Callaway, and Miss Piver, of A8hburn, who Is vlEltlng Mrs. Tyler. Both young ladles were be comingly gowned In evening costumes and were very much admired by the large number of guests present. The color uchome was red and green. The decorations, beautiful In every detail, were In hearts, emblematic of St. Val entine’s Day. Refreshments were served In the spacious dining hall and were dainty and delicious. Mr. Ty ler’s beautiful home deserves special mention, as it Is one of the old-fash ioned but new Southern homes — a house built with spacious halls, fold ing doors and open fireplaces—truly a die, irful abode. Anyone so fortun ate ns to once visit there will hope to return, because of the delightful home nnd the generous hospitality of the host and hostess. Atlanta, Albany, Dawson and Macon were represented and all felt glad to he there. Beautiful Walk. The tile block walk which has just been laid from the sidewalk to the front steps at the home of Mr. J. B. Gilbert is one of the prettiest walks in the city. It was laid by the Albany Pressed Stone Co. The blocks are hexagon lii shape, excellently made and perfectly laid. Nuptials of Miss Ethel Petty and Mr. B. L. Mc- Caskill Were Solemn ized Last Night. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Morris last night, Miss Ethel Petty and Mr. Bernard L. McCaskill were joined In marriage by Rev. Charels T Wright, rector of St. Paul’s church. The wedding was informal, and the ceremony was as simple as It was pretty. Mr. Morris marched to the foot of the stairs with the bride, gave her to the bridegroom, then bride and groom marched to the altar and were joined in the holy bonds of wedlock, Only members of the Immediate families were present at the ceremony. The home of Mr. Morris was beautF' fully decorated with vines, lilacs nnd ! narcissi. At the conclusion of the | cerembny, a delightful dinner was served. The ceremony was performed at 7 o’clock, and ,at 9 o’clock the newly married couple left for their home in Americus. The marriage of Miss Petty and Mr. McCaskill was a social event of no little importance. Since the first sur mise of the engagement, much Inter est had been centered in the final cul mination of their beautiful romance. ' The bride is the daughter of Mrs. N. L. Petty, of Lynchburg, Vir ginia. She came to Albany about five months ago for a visit with Mrs. Mor ris. In that time, she endeared her self to hundreds of Albanians, who wish her a most happy wedded life. The bride, besides being’ a lady of unusually attractive appearance, has a sweet disposition and a charming manner, which Invariably win and hold the highest esteem of her ac quaintances. Mr. Bernard L. McCaskill was uatil recently a resident of this city, and his business ability and strength of character are well known here. He is a young man, with the promise of a most successful future before him, and his many friends feel assured that the promise will be realized.
