SAVANNAH CLERKS
MAKE ORGANIZED FIGHT.
Public 8entlment In Favor of Early
Ctoiing Hours.
Special to The Herald.
Savannah, Ga., Feb. 28.—The retail
clerks in other Georgia stores will find
Inspiration to fight for early closing
hours through the work now being
done In that direction by the retail
clerks of Savannah. For two-years
there has been a sort of haphazard
fight going on to this end, but recently
the work became concerted. Now thd
women's organizations, the minister^,
the Y. M. C. A., and in fact nearly
every organization that works for hu
mane interests, have joined with the
clerks In their effort to get the stores
to close at 6:30' o'clock In the atfer-
noon and at 10 o'clock on Saturday
night. Many of the larger stores have
conceded to Uielr demands. This wag
brought about by tho building up of a
public sentiment in favor of the plan.

Horrible Nows.
The mint crop has been ruined
By frosts. It seems a crime,
Because we find we're facing
A mintless Julep time.
Many people suffer for years from
rheumatic pains, and prefer to do so
rather than take the strong medicines
usually given for rheumatism, not
knowing that quick relief from pain
may be had simply by applying Cham
berlain’s Pain Balm and without tak
ing any medicine Internally. Rev.
Amos Parker, of Magnolia, North Car
olina, suffered for eight years with a
lame hip, due to severe rheumatic
pains. He has tjeen permanently
cured by the free application of Cham
berlain's Pain Balm. For sale by Hlls-

Indifferent at different times.of the

waking In the morning and looking at
the bright window, then closing the
eyes, he will observe an impression or
phantom of the window for an appre
ciable time after bis eyes are closed.
A Healing Goipel.
The Rev. J. C. Warren, pastor of

physical collapse. I was so weak It
took me half an hour to walk a mile.
Two bottles of Electric Bitters have
made me so strong I have just walked
three miles In 60 minutes and feel like
walking three more. It’s made a new
