(By Wire to Clark & Oo.) CLARK & CO.’S COTTON LETTER. The failure of Liverpool to respond to our advance of yesterday, and the evident disposition of spinners in Eu rope and America to pursue a hand-to mouth policy in securing their sup plies, caused a stampede among weary longs at our opening, and 1 the mad rush to cover sent prices down 26 points almost within the twinkling of an eye. The South not only continued "to sell In all the option markets of the world, but bombarded the "infor mation centers” with highly colored reports of “heavy stocks weakly held, 1 “bankers calling in their loans on cot ton,” “terrilfiq increase in acreage and Use of fertilizers,” all accompanied by ofdars to sell. -The market just sim ply could not stand this pressure, and at no time were sellers in danger, Stop orders on May at 40 also acceler ated (the decline. The demand for spots continues good, but. the move ment also continues on a very liberal scale. Sentiment is rapidly changing in regard to the size of the crop, 'and the mbst rampant bull must now ad mit that 11,000,000 bales is yjell within the range of possibilities. Now that the 15-cent phantom and 10,000,000- bale "nightiiare” are disposed of for- all time, the' trade has settled itself to the conviction 'that there "is cotton" —“like salvation”—for all, and with continued fair weather throughout the belt we see nothing, absolutely noth ing, on which the bulls can hang a single hope. The market is a sale. CLARK & CO. CENTRAL OF GEORCIA RAILWAY. Arrival and .Departure of Trains at Albany, Ga. In Effect Jan. 8. 1906.
