Special to The Herald.
Savannah, Qa., March 20.—Admirers
of the very rich have been hoping for
the past two days to get a glimpse of
Mr. and Mrs, Cornelias Vanderbilt,
who are, here In their private yacht.
So far, however, the grandson of the
old Commodore and his wife have kept
themselves very well secluded. They
have not gone driving nor done any
thing else tourists are expected to
do. They may go out this. afternoon,
ah the weather, which has been bad
since they arrived, shows signs of
clearing today.

A Suit for Damages.
Atlanta, Ga., March 20. — Claiming
that the sudden jolt of a trolley car
opened an old knife wound, and caused

ing to 'a conservative estimate), J. B.
Raven has brought action against the
Georgia Railway and Electric Co. for
alleged damages in the sum of $10,000.
Raven says he boarded an East Point
car and told' the conductor he had a
wound on the left side of the body.
He says the car was crowded but the
conductor made no effort to get him
a seat. He declares that the car made
\
a lunge forward, he wast brown back
ward, 'landing with violence against
the running apparatus on the i back
platform, his collar bone was broken,
the old wound was opened, and he was
otherwise injured.

Cobb for Chancellor of University.
Atlanta, Ga., March 20.—Justice An
drew J. Cobb, of the Georgia Supreme
Court bench, is likely to be chancellor
of the University of Georgia, succeed
ing the late Hon, Walter B. Hill.
From an unofficial but nevertheless
reliable source it is learned that Mr.
Cobb is practically the unanimous!
choice of the university trustees. A
gentleman who stands close to the
board says that Mr. Cobb's name has
been before the trustees for
time. Whether or not he would ac
cept is not known.
