The county primary will take place tomorrow. It promises to ,be one of the most interesting contests ever waged In Dougherty county, in spite of. the fact that for only one office has ipore than, one candidate offered. All the present officers of the comi ty will be renominated without oppo sition—Sherif F. G. Edwards, Clerk of Court R. P. Hail, Tax Collector J. T. Hester, Tax Receiver S. W. Gunni son, Coroner A. A. Kearney and Sur veyor C. G. Bennett. For the office of treasurer there are two candidates, Mr. H. A. Tarver and Mr. Paul H. Jones. Mr. Tarver is the present deputy clerk, and both Mr. Tarver and Mr. Jones are mem bers of the City Council of Albany. It is the first time in many years that the voters of the county have been called upon to nominate a clerk o4 the superior court and a treasurer as separate officers. During the per iod named the clerk lias been ex- officio treasurer, but the Supreme Court has recently rendered a decis ion in a similar case which Indicates that the two offices in this county will be divorced if application be made from this county. This decision pre cipitated the race for Treasurer as a separate officer. , . I Both Mr. Tarver and Mr. Jones ex press confidence in the result of to morrow’s primary. It will be a good- natured contest, in spite, of the intense interest manifested. Watch the West End Syndicate. They are alive and progressive.
