§8111:
OF THE HU
Chautauqua Edition Will
Consist of 36 Pages-Ad-
vertising Patronage Very
Liberal for Big Edition.
The merchants of Albany have again
demonstrated their splendid judgment
and fine public spirit by giving liberal
patronage to the Chautauqua Edition
of The'Herald, which will be issued
on Sunday morning, April 15, to ad
vertise the Eighteenth Annual Assem
bly of the Georgia Chautauqua and the
city whloh has supported and main
tained this grand institution for nearly
a score ot years.
The Herald's solicitors stated to the
advertising patrona that there was a
probability of the Chautauqua Edition
reaching thirty-six pages, and we are
glad now to state that sufficient adver
tising space has been sold to warrant
an edition of this size. PracttcaUy all
of the. representative Albany firms will
have lai&s advertisements in the edi
tion, hot ..there will be a few who will
not he represented. The number will
be surprisingly few, however.
The work on this big paper la now
well In hand. Raving ascertained ex
actly what we would be imposition to
do, we are busy making the plans for
an edition which we hope will be the
best advertising edition ever issued in
South Georgia. Neither expense nor
work will he-spared In our efforts to
make this a paper of which every Al
banian can feel a Just pride. j
V ' ' ' •
.We wish to Impress upon those who
have taken space In this edition that
they can be of most help , to us now by
getting the copy for thplr advertise
ments In shape as early as possible.
By April i we would like to have In
hand the copy for every advertisement
that Is to appear in the edition, so ad
vertisers are urged to give this Impor
tant matter prompt attention. The ad
vertisements for which copy Is handed
In early will, necessarily, receive the
best attention.
The Herald has never experienced
more satisfactory progress In working
up a special edition for any occasion.
The merchants seemed quick to real
ize the excellence of the proposed pa
per as an advertising medium and tfiey
were quite liberal in their space reser
vations. On this account we are ^ble
to go right ahead and prepare for a
paper that will be metropolitan In
every respect.
While as many large spaces have
been sold for this edition as we can
well handle, we could make room for
a tew small advortisements.lt there Is
any whom our solicitors have over
looked or have been unable to find.
We want every business man to be
Represented In this great paper, or to
feel that he has had the opportunity to
have an advertisement In its columns.
If there Is any business man in the
city whom we have failed to see, a
'phone message will bring a Herald so
licitor to him to go fully into the mer
its of the paper, the rates, etc.
