The finest contour of a fefnale face, the
sweetest Bmlle of a female mouth, loses
something If the head Is crowned with
scant hair. Scant and falling hair, It la
now known, Is caused by a parasite that
burrows Into the scalp to the root of the*.,
hair, where It saps the vitality. The lit
tle white scales the germ throws up In
burrowing are called dandruff. To cure
dandruff permanently, then, and to stop
falling hair, that germ must be killed.
Newbro's Herplcide. an entirely , new re
sult of the chemical laboratory, destroys
the dandrufT germ,\&nd, of course, stops
the falling hair,.and prevents baldness.

'T dojt’ hear anything In Albany
these days but paved streets and
paved streets," said a traveling man to
a representative of The Herald yes
terday. “A paying craze Beems to
have struck the town. It Is true that
only one street has been paved so far,
but If the sentiment of the people
counts for anything In the regulation
of city affairs, the whole business por
tion of Albany Will be paved ere long.
When I waB here before, an entirely
different tune was being sung. Then
It was parked streets. As between
the two, parked streets are the pret
tier, when the parking Is properly
done, and are suitable for the resi
dence portion of a city of tills size,
but paved streets are certainly ‘the
goods’ for the business blocks of any
city.” .

The announcement of the proposed
changes In the B. & W. schedule was
pleasing news to the hundreds of peo
ple who have, from necessity, to use
that road on-their travels. The for
mer schedule was about as poor, from
the passengers’ standpoint, as could
be. The new one, with the possible
exception of one outgoing train in
the afternoon, is J,ust as was asked
for.

THE PERFECT HOME
requires perfect plumbing. And the
hoauty and healthfulness of modern
sanitary plumbing are not to be Ig
nored. Just compare the modern
plumbing with the
OLD STYLE PLUMBING.
“Just so," you say, “but the old kind
was cheaper.’’ Not a bit of It. Come
and talk plumbing to ue and you will
learn better. Others have done so

“Let me tell you what Is the best
sign that Albany Is a live, hustling
city and a mighty good business
town,” said a stranger a few days
ago. “When I hit a city where there
are always plenty of people in the
streets, and they seem to be in some
what of a hurry, I know I have struck
a city that is. That is the kind of a
frlace Albany is. Her business streets
are always filled with vehicles. Pedes
trians always crowd her sidewalks. I
have been in some cities about the
size of Albany, and in the heart of
the week day, and honestly on their
principal business stieets not a half-
dozen people were to be seen. A can
non ball fired right down their main,
business streets probably would not
have, hit a person.”
