In order to inspire a spirit of rivalry among the men of the company, Capt. Paul J. Brown has inaugurated a se ries of squad and Individual tourna ments. Two teams have been chosen, one headed by Captain Brown and the other by Lieutenant Tompkins. The former is composed of Captain Brown, THE LEADING OPTICIAN, The New 3 S ? During the next few weeks there will he a series of shoots on the range, and the five men on each team mak ing the highest scores will then be pit ted against each other in a final match. From these ten contestants, the live making the highest scores in the match will be designated as the “first company team.” The other five will constitute the “second company team.” Then there will he a series of indi vidual matches in which all the mem bers of the company will participate. Under a series of rules which Captain Brown has prepared, members of the second team’ may be challenged by in dividuals, and members of the first team may be challenged by members of the second. All challenges must be accepted, the matches occurring with in a week. In this manner there will he constant rivalry for team positions.' which will finally be held by the best shots In the company.
