Tho hour Is 8 o’clock. Tho meeting will be ono of the most Important Albany business men have ever been called to attend. Trade days will be discussed. So will a number of other impor tant matters. Do not take It for granted that "the others will be there/’ and on the strength of that assumption'- stay away. Supose all were to do that? Be on hand. Dont’ forget it. Don't neglect it. BIDS FOR CITY AND COUNTY SCHOOL BONDS Opened this Morning, but Announce ment of Award Not Yet Made. A joint committee of the Board of County Commissioners and the City Council opened bids at noon today at the court house for the Issue of $12,600 municipal and $12,500 county high school bonds. A number of bids were received, not one was accepted. It is probable, how ever, that one of the offers will be formally accepted this atfernoon or to morrow, final action having been de ferred pending the result of certain telegraphic correspondence with one of the bidders, relative to a matter connected with Its offer, ♦While the board has given out no figures, it Is stated that the bids were satisfactory, anil announcement will probably be made not later than tew morrow that one of the bids opened this morning has been accepted. SPECIAL TRAIN WRECKED ON VIRGINIA CENTRAL. 27,000 against 'Automatic $have Razor It is not. believed the public will stay out of the market much longer, and when they do commence buying- watch the market advance. Price says it Is a campaign, and not a "scalp.” The world now knows that he meant what he said. The strength of the market Is sim ply wonderful. While the general public Is out of the # market, spinners are gradually cleaning the country of desirable grades. People who are now running over each other to sell next fall delivery at l'O cents will be sorry when the day of delivery arrives. This market geems to have a will of its own, and Europe appears to have a keener appreciation of Its merit than in America. Europe thinks of the commercial aspect 'of the situation, while we think of nothing but the new crop. An error yesterday caused the statement to appear In this column that 'these gentlemen belonged to the Tlfton "Hoke Smith” Club. “Nay, nay!” said one of the three gentlemen to a Herald man this morning.
