As already stated In The Herald, the excavations for the. foundations were completed several days ago, and now the contractors, Little & Phillips, have as large a force as they have beon able to gather at work laying brick. All the foundation brick are being laid In cement, and the eharacter of the building’s construction throughout will be substantial, and It Is to be equipped for the comfort-and conven ience of the teachers and pupils who are to utilize It. There seems now to be little doubt that the building will be completed lo time for the opening of the fall school term about the middle of September. A great deal of work oan be construct ed by an adiple foroe of carpenters and masons In five months, especially where there Is an Incentive for haste. The city and county school author ities are watching the progress of the work with increasing Interest, which, however, Is hardly greater than that manifested by all the people of the community. ED.
